RBA-BMZ-GIZ Conference in Brussels

May 14, 2025 | Brussels, Belgium

Nearly a year after the publication of the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) in the Official EU Journal, active efforts to prepare for its implementation are under way, while the policy landscape for Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD) continues to evolve. Due diligence is situated at a crossroads: Will emerging regulatory requirements lead to outcome-oriented and impactful due diligence, or will lack of focus and lack of scale undermine the effectiveness of supply chain due diligence efforts? What collective actions are needed to ensure that compliance efforts yield impact, and what burdensome processes and activities risk undermining the effectiveness of due diligence practices?

This conference, "Due Diligence at a Crossroads: Paths to Greater Impact," on May 14 will provide a platform to take stock of regulatory developments, share lessons learned from the regulatory readiness efforts and implementation of due diligence policies, and highlight opportunities for creating sustainable and resilient supply chains.

This conference is organized by the RBA in cooperation with the Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS), which is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

All sessions will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule.
